Emalie Huriaux

Integration, Hepatitis C, and Drug User Health Program Manager, Washington State Department of Health

Emalie Huriaux, MPH, is the Integration, Hepatitis C, and Drug User Health Program Manager for the Washington State Department of Health. In this role she is responsible for the Office of Infectious Disease’s efforts to address its work through a syndemic framework, hepatitis C prevention efforts and involvement with Hep C Free WA (the state HCV elimination initiative), and efforts to support and promote syringe service programs and overdose education and naloxone distribution programs in Washington State. Prior to this role, Ms. Huriaux was responsible for Project Inform’s U.S. and California-based hepatitis C and harm reduction policy activities, chaired the California Hepatitis Alliance, served as the Steering Committee chair for the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable, and served as co-chair for the Fair Pricing Coalition. She worked for seven years at the San Francisco Department of Public Health, where Ms. Huriaux served as the Viral Hepatitis & Integration Coordinator, and spent many years as a health educator and front line provider working with harm reduction programs, including street outreach, syringe access, overdose prevention and response, and sexual health programs.
